You do not like being overweight-no one does. Now you have decided you need to arm yourself with information so you can look forward to seeing a fast fat loss soon. If that is the case, then there are some fast fat loss secrets you will want to hear about.

The first one is that it is a myth that you can change fat into muscle. If you have seen someone who has figured out how to lose fat fast go through a dramatic transformation, it might look like the fat changed into muscle but that is not true.

Fat and muscle are two different types of tissue. For one thing, a given amount of muscle, like a cubic inch of it, weighs five times the amount that the same amount of fat weighs. This means that a pound of fat takes up five times as much room as a pound of muscle!

To make matters even worse, fat does not even work to burn off any calories. When you exercise, fat just goes along for the ride-it does not contract or contribute. That is what muscle does, and muscle burns calories and stored fat.

Another secret is that most short-term diets do not work for long-term fast fat loss. What is happening when you diet is that you are changing to a very strict way of eating and drinking that you cannot keep up forever. It is not sustainable.

So what happens on a diet is that you will lose some weight at first, but then as soon as you go off the diet, you gain the weight back. This can be very frustrating and it has even earned a special name: yo-yo dieting. Many fast fat loss programs come under this category, unfortunately.

Instead of dieting, you should learn permanent modifications that you can make to your eating habits. These changes need to be things you can live with, so they should not be drastic changes that you cannot live with day in, day out, week in, week out, month after month.

Here is something else you will want to know. Fast fat loss programs that promise you will lose more than one to two pounds per week are probably doomed to failure. The math simply does not work out.

To burn off a pound of fat, you need to burn 3,500 more calories than you take in. To lose one pound of fat per week, you would need to eat 500 calories less than you normally do (7 x 500 = 3,500.)

A normal amount of calories for an active woman is about 1,800 per day, so when you cut back your calories by 500 per day, you are cutting down by about 27%, which is a lot, but you can do it.

But to lose 10 pounds in one week, you would have to eat 5,000 less calories per day, or run about 50 miles per day…and that is not possible for anyone, no matter how disciplined they are. You need to be realistic.

Yes, you can achieve fast fat loss. But the key is to keep your goals reasonable and take the right steps.
